| Princeton Insurance Group buys Parr Insurance Agency Posted: 22 Sep 2010 02:58 PM PDT By Lyle Ganther - lganther@bcrnews.com PRINCETON — The Parr Insurance Agency, which has been in existence for 71 years in Princeton, has been acquired by the Princeton Insurance Group, formed by a group of investors. "I was approached by some area insurance professionals looking to invest in a Princeton insurance agency," said H. Ernie Parr. "We subsequently put a deal together to form the Princeton Insurance Group." The purchase was effective Sept. 1. Parr will continue to work at the agency in a sales capacity. "This move has been made to ensure that the quality customer service our customers have received over the past 71 years will continue, as well as having access to top-rated companies," said Pete Mangold, a producer for the agency. "No significant changes will take place, however, we will be better prepared to focus on the future and handle your insurance needs effectively, competitively and competently. The name has changed but not the people," Parr said in a letter sent to its customers announcing the purchase. "We are confident this new relationship will benefit each client. We will now be able to offer a wide range of safety, compliance, OSHA, and human resource services at no cost to our clients." The sale of Parr Insurance Agency to the Princeton Insurance Group will allow customers to continue to have a relationship with Cincinnati Insurance. "This is great for our client base, as a lot of our personal and commercial lines clients have had a long-standing relationship with Cincinnati Insurance Co.," added Mangold. In addition to maintaining the relationship with Cincinnati Insurance, Princeton Insurance Group will also be offering quotes from Travelers Insurance, Allied/Nationwide Insurance, AAA, MetLife, Secura, Hanover and Society, Mangold said. Princeton Insurance Agency will maintain the former staff of the Parr Agency as well as adding some new faces to better service and handle the needs of its customers, said Mangold. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturday. The agency will also be staying at 636 S. Main St. in Princeton with the same phone number of 815-875-4464. Princeton Insurance Group is a full-line agency offering coverage for group health, individual health, life insurance, farm, auto, home, commercial insurance and crop insurance.
