| New York company buys Sacramento discount insurance firm Posted: 04 Oct 2010 11:52 AM PDT New York-based Confie Seguros Inc., an auto insurance provider that targets Latino customers, said Monday that it has acquired Cost-U-Less Insurance of Sacramento. Cost-U-Less Insurance's niche has been providing low-cost auto insurance options from various companies since 1989. It has more than 80 offices throughout California and writes more than $125 million in premiums annually. With the acquisition, Confie Seguros said it will have more than 150 retail centers throughout the state. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Confie Seguros officials said Norm Hudson, president of Cost-U-Less, will remain in that position and continue to oversee the company. © Copyright The Sacramento Bee. All rights reserved.
