| Auto insurer to enter Mass. market Posted: 29 Oct 2010 03:29 AM PDT Green Mountain Insurance Co. will begin selling auto insurance in Massachusetts on Dec. 1, the state's Division of Insurance said yesterday. According to the division, Green Mountain Insurance will be the 12th new company to enter the local marketplace since managed competition began in 2008. With Green Mountain's arrival, 31 companies will be selling auto insurance in Massachusetts. Green Mountain Insurance is part of Concord Group Insurance, which serves Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Concord Group has been writing homeowners' insurance and other kinds of insurance in Massachusetts for nearly 20 years.
